A philosophical German emigrant artist, Henrik was the troubled son of a bookseller and a schoolteacher who had dropped out of high school to volunteer in the Great War, then did odd jobs after the war until he got a job to help sketch findings with an Egyptological expedition. He could not find work upon returning to Germany, and emigrated to England where he is currently staying with his English uncle. He connected with Carl Ellis and the others when he was hired to sketch landscape scenes from Sandø island by a reclusive patron.
