It is unknown whether Skallagrim deserves his epithet more for his face or his mood. His dirt-black hair, dark eyes, and ruddy complexion suggest that more than a few drops of Lagakin blood flow in his veins. He speaks naught of his clan-past (and precious little more of other matters) save after many mead-horns. When drink loosens his word-hoard, however, Skallagrim has oft spoken with black humor of an unhappy wyrd that has lain upon his family for centuries. On such occasions, he has also given too candid an assessment of his the battle-leading skills of his betters-- a habit which resulted in him being made outlaw in Hvalrik. Though few find Skallagrim pleasant company, he is a resolute warrior whose woodscraftiness and knowledge of Lagakin ways makes him a most useful carl.
