Werewolves of London
This is a resource page on a campaign of Werewolf: The Apocalypse,
using the rules from the new World of Darkness core and
Werewolf: The Forsaken. The campaign, started in 2009,
is about a set of British rock stars who gravitated together as
teens and formed their own band, and then found that they were
all werewolves. We pick up the band in mid-career as they are
doing their first international tours. Their songs include "Mystic
Taint," "Blood in the Snow," and others.
- Xandra (played by Heather)
- A mixed instrumentalist and lead songwriter of the band, fond
of world music influences and odd instruments.
- Colin (played by Bill)
- A Glasswalker, who plays keyboard, and is known for his
technological savvy.
- Maggie (played by Cynthia)
- The lead singer of the band, an Irish-American woman known for
her fiery spirit.
- Rocky (played by John)
- The drummer of the band, known for his angry streak and his
bulldogish promotion of the band in their early years.
- Wiilo (played by Liz)
- The lead guitar player, who went off for a solo career.
Recurring NPCs include our manager Kumar Patel, our PR lady Ruth, and
our replacement lead guitarist Ben Ortega. Werewolf contacts include
Tansy Miyamoto, a Glasswalker in Boston.
Session Summaries
- #1: Teens in England - We narrate about the band's
early years when they got together as teens, and have an adventure
as they go to a music festival up north early in their career.
They find a troublesome spirit causing a flood on the festival
grounds, and trace it back to a gambling hall owner.
- #2: Blood in the Snow - We jump ahead 2-3 years as the
band has hit it big and are doing a U.S. tour. In Alaska, we
contact some Uktena and help them by
- #3: Mean Tree - The band goes down to Phoenix, where
Wiilo disappears and we get Ben Ortega to fill in for him.
There is a minor disturbance as armed skinheads disrupt
their practice. More importantly, strange feedback in the
sound equipment turns out to be messages from a local spirit.
After contacting Kayla - a local Uktena werewolf - we head
down Hohokan highway according to the message we heard, and
find an evil tree spirit that has been tormenting the ghost
that contacted us.
- #4: Boston Dancers - The band takes time off from their
tour to visit Maggie's family in Boston. Meeting her mother
Kate and grandmother Brigit, they learn that Bill Dudley - a
friend of her cousin Ted - has been pulled dead from the
river. We retraced his investigation of a firm called APEX
Duplication, and mounted an assault on their place to find a
hideout of Black Spiral Dancers.
- #5: - The band goes to (?), and has its (?) stolen
off the bus. Later, one of the roadies turns up dead. The
police are involved, but the band investigates on its own.
We eventually question the spirit of a camera and learn
that an unscrupulous collector is responsible. We find
him and teach him a lesson. Songs for our concert include
"Green Onion" and "Six Feet Under."
- #6: Shuttle or Bust - The band gets a new producer,
Ross, who insists that they begin travel with the bus
instead of by plane. Taking our last plane flight to Orlando,
Florida, we prepare to play at the Brighton Casino. We
recruited Ben Ortega to fill in for the rest of the tour
for Wiilo, who has left for a solo career. The local
Uktena contact us to help them covertly destroy the space
shuttle - their plan to scuttle the American space program,
thus reducing pollution. Maggie and Colin are horrified at
this, and feel deeply betrayed that Xandra and Rocky would
even consider this. Rocky and Xandra back out as plans are
exchanged, and then independently Colin and Rocky both go to
the shuttle site to head off the Uktena. In the Umbra by
the shuttle, they run into a fight between Silverfangs and
the Uktena. Rocky tries to make peace, but fails and the
Silverfangs kill one Uktena and drive off the others.
- #7: Finale - Rocky returns to talk with Xandra, then
Kumar contacts them upset over Maggie's leaving. Colin at
first goes on his own, but then joins the two at the hotel
in Florida. They use the excuse of the hotel security chief
disappearing (and a scare involving some dogs) to cancel the
show. They then head up to Boston -- after hearing that they
have a new head to their recording company, after the old
one died of a heart attack. They are suspicious and determine
to get together to confront and possibly destroy him. They
stalk into the office with their faces covered and disable
the security cameras, then change into near-wolf form to
confront him. Xandra and Rocky capture him physically, but
going into the spirit realm Colin is wounded. They join forces
and try to confront an evil spirit within a guitar in the
spirit realm, and eventually defeat it by a combination of
physical force and music. After a farewell concert in NYC,
they go their separate ways. Xandra goes on solo hunting;
Rocky gives up music but works to hunt evil, trying to get
different tribes to cooperate (and trying to stay in touch
with everyone); Colin sets up a studio in London and has
a solo career; Maggie dies in a suspicious drunk driving
accident.
