In 1993 TSR sued that Mayfair's "Role Aids" line (which advertised as usable with AD&D) was in violation of their 1984 agreement on how to use the AD&D trademark. The court found that some (but not all) of the line were in violation, but this did not violate the agreement. Mayfair continued the line until TSR bought the rights from them. They closed shop in January 1997.
